The gith were a race of sentients who evolved from the ancient zarum people. The zarum were cursed by the gods in the Ancient World for betraying the other mortals; the curse stripped gith of "the gift", or magic. Being unable to access the Weave, they honed powerful psychic techniques, including a near-mastery of their metabolisms.
