Effigy

Effigy was the name given to the guardian of the Vault of the Ancients. More than just a simple automaton, Effigy was one of the first prototypes of wholly living constructs ever made. He was created by the arch-wizard Mordenkainen as part of his Final Legacy, centuries before the Zathos dwarves would attempt the construction of sentient machines.
