The Second Battle of Slate was a two-day military engagement between the Velgassi Empire and the Pennant Regency in and around the town of Slate. Major portions of the battle were fought on the open fields of the Opal Valley north of town, and a not insignificant number of skirmishes took place immediately outside and within the city walls.
The battle was notable for being the first direct engagement involving Green Company, a group of military cadets from the Regency.
