Undine was the goddess of the seas and oceans of Echelon after the end of the Light Age. She was the only known mortal to ascend to godhood via apotheosis. Before her ascension, Undine was a mother, famous ship captain, heroic adventurer, arch-druid, and a key focus of the Meloran Crisis.

Appearance and Personality

As a mortal, Undine was a relatively nondescript sea elf who often wore plain, flowing sailor's clothes. Her breeches were always weighed down with shiny rocks and shells she found, delighting in the collection (and occasional forceful distribution) of stones.

Her divine visage was somewhat difficult to describe, as the sea goddess was prevented from interacting with Echelon directly because of the Seal placed by the gods millennia before her ascension to the pantheon.

At the time of her apotheosis, Undine was approximately 310 years old, entering the Matriarch stage of Strongwater elven society. She was known to be abrupt, often ending conversations when they bored her. Her compassionate streak was unquestionable, though, as Undine placed herself (and her crew) in harm's way countless times to save those weaker than her.

The era after her arrival on the Celestial stage was called the Epoch of Undine, and was characterized by traits which exemplified Undine in her mortal life: change and freedom.

After her apotheosis, Undine's miracles at the end of the Meloran Crisis ushered in a new era for mortalkind on Echelon.

Metagame Trivia

Undine was a character played by Erin Kinnear for the second Chainsailor Chronicles campaign.
