The Harper College of Lore (sometimes shortened to "Harpers") was a bardic college established in the early Dark Age as the Doctantian Order. It was the oldest of the "modern" colleges, predating both Saga Nova by centuries, and both the Glamour colleges of Deliria and Tyrros.

Harpers were, before graduating, usually required to complete an epic. These epics often involved following a group of adventurers (usually under a potion of invisibility to avoid contamination) and recording their deeds.

Occasionally, though rarely, Harpers would break the rule of noninterference. One such example was when Jean-Baptiste Donnuer warned Trigonon about Explictica Defilus's attack on Wophec.

  • Observe and record, but do not interfere
  • Knowledge is meant to be gathered, shared, and preserved
