Whereas most civilizations followed Mordenkainen's teachings, classifying magic spells into nine distinct levels (with some variation), apotheosis was sometimes considered a ritual spell of 10th level. Along with the Millennial Spell, it was the only magic of such power in existence, perhaps eclipsing even the mighty wish. Knowledge of the spell was carefully guarded from, and some said even unknowable to, all but 15th-level wizards and clerics.
