The Bolt was the name given to the end of the Key to Infinity. It was a small cylinder, much like a tumbler lock, with an opening on one of its surfaces. This opening was the receptacle for the Bit and subsequently connected it with the rest of the Key.
The Bolt was lost when the Thaedran dreadnought Cry Havoc crashed into the Stygian Lands, causing the Spiral. It was the subject of Stygian folklore for hundreds of years; would-be emperors and warlords fought over the Bolt's powers in the latter half of the Light Age.
