Dreadnought

A dreadnought was a massive amalgamation of airship, wizard's tower, and floating island. Used by the Thaedran Imperium from 659 LA until the creation of the Welkin Maelstrom in 2000 LA, dreadnoughts were, in essence, the entire infrastructure of the aerial nation. They were created by wizards adapting the forbidden zarum spell which initially floated the Dawning Isle.

There were initially three dreadnoughts: Zero Hour, Cry Havoc, and Emancipator. There were an unknown number of other dreadnoughts created after the Arlanestran Schism of 659. Dreadnoughts, and all forms of magical aerial travel, were rendered unusable by the Maelstrom.

Crashed dreadnoughts were the sites of many magical oddities and treasures, and proved to be powerful draws for adventurers and relic hunters.
