The Eastmarch was the name given to a mass exodus of humans and some dwarves from the western Mainland in the Ancient World.

Cause of the Eastmarch

Most notably, the Eastmarch was a direct result of the kingdom of Kerouet's fall. However, King Ardius Pelycto's order to remove east was not the only deciding factor, nor was it the first. Years prior to the rise of Thuun Shatterbones and the subsequent destruction of Kerouet, the dwarven seer Ark predicted a cataclysm in the west. He and his followers crossed the Red Desert and settled in Echelon's Spine around 2300 BME.

Due to the Racial diaspora following the Dawn War, others had made their way to the Nentir Vale as early as 3800 BME, but the consensus was that these settlers were not included in the Eastmarch.
