Jump to navigation Jump to search

Moradin was a Creative Celestial deity and patron of dwarves.

History

The All-father of the dwarves, Moradin fashioned the second race of the Echelon "by breathing life into... cut stones and gems", according to the Moradindrian. Some primitive cultures in the Ancient World worshipped Moradin as a fertility god. After their own creation by the dwarves, the gearforged race were almost monotheistic in their devotion to Moradin. A master craftsman, Moradin also forged Gungnir, the great spear of the thunder god Kord.

Moradin's Celestial wife, Berronar Truesilver, was regarded as the Revered Mother of the dwarves and held in high esteem as well. Paladins who fought in Moradin's name also took up the mantle of the mysterious Berronar, and were sometimes called Defenders of Berronar among other dwarves.

Dogma and Followers

Moradin was the god of the forge, family, and tradition. He encouraged creativity, intelligence, harmony, and above all, hard work. Clerics of Moradin and Erathis usually performed marriage ceremonies in civilized lands.
