Light Age

The Light Age was a period in Echelon's history immediately proceeding the Dark Age. It began with the Passing of the Null and continued for approximately 2360 years.

Notation

The New Calendar was adopted by the influential Harper College of Lore and quickly spread to all corners of the map. It shrugged off the obsolete Chronographer's Calendar of the Dark Age and modified the old According Calendar System of the Middle Era. After chronicling several traditions, a series of 12 months were named as follows:

4. Bloom
5. High Spring
6. Brightwind
7. Heavysun
8. Longshadow
9. Redleaves
10. Harvest
11. Feastmonth
12. Yearsend

The weekly calendar from the old ACS was revamped as well, with 7 days (instead of the previous 5):

1. Pelorsday
2. Melorasday
3. Lucksday
4. Windsday
5. Kordsday
6. Freeday
7. Starsday

The addition of Melorasday and Kordsday reflected the traditions of non-Tetrarchal faiths, and made for a more mathematically sound calendar than the simplistic, 91-day seasonal divisions of the ACS.

Significant Events

• 22 LA: The tabaxi peoples use the Jaguar Gate to return to the Material Plane from the safety of their demiplane, Sanctuary.
• 275 LA: Thyr Chernarus I establishes a kingdom west of the Red Desert.
• 599 LA-602 LA: The Logos War occurs.
• 616 LA: The Arcana Regulation Bureau is established in Arlanestra.
• 654 LA: The aerial Thaedran Imperium is formally established.
• 786 LA: The Thaedran dreadnaught Zero Hour is destroyed, preventing the Steel Timeline. This marks the final major break in the Shattered Prophecy. The Melding occurs.
• 1019 LA: The Planar Wars begin.
• 1102 LA: The Dragon Federation is established between Calogero, Galvanheim, and Kodonholm.
• 1650 LA: First contact between humans and tabaxi is made.
• 1994 LA: Explictica Defilus forms the Black Alliance in the western Mainland.
• 2000 LA: The Thaedran Imperium is destroyed by Teonide the Gold, causing the Welkin Maelstrom.
• 2348 LA: The titan Seaeater, a primordial kraken, is banished from the Material Plane. The goddess Melora begins to die with the effort of containing the kraken's power.
• 2356 LA: The Meloran Crisis begins.
