Parec Bitan, colloquially nicknamed Ambrosia, was a superstructure built over thousands of years in the Whispering Timeline.

History

When the Whispering Timeline emerged as a result of chronomancy, the Ancient World castle Judoc Teutorigos was ripped from time and contained in a sphere of protomatter in the Ethereal Plane. That sphere, shaped by the subconscious of Alastaire Breowan thousands of years in the future, became the demiplane synonymous with the Whispering Timeline. Judoc Teutorigos was unstuck in time and became nestled in the ring-like mountain chain of the Whispering Valley. It carried the first inhabitants to the demiplane, some of whom constructed Parec Bitan.

Construction

Judoc Teutorigos was the first and highest level of the tower-like structure. It slowly changed over millennia to become the Receiving Spire, a watchtower and way station for the hyper-religious Urim who ruled Parec Bitan.

The second "floor" was originally a series of storerooms and barracks, but later became a subterranean vault which housed the cloistered leader of the Urim.

The third sublevel contained the machinery and magics used to dig, transport personnel and excavation debris, and eventually seal the entire structure.

The fourth level housed the Urim leadership in garden-like apartments.

The fifth floor was a massive chamber for religious worship of the Urim, dominated by a cathedral and ritual altar.

The sixth floor was where the "common" populace of the structure dwelled. They lived in relative comfort, though always in fear of displeasing the Urim and being cast down to the seventh and final sublevel.

The seventh sublevel was a cavernous area larger than all the others. A central beam with colossal buttresses kept the ceiling intact, and a mishmash of stone, rusted metal, and fiber structures littered the sublevel. The denizens of the seventh level eked out miserable lives; gang warfare, disease, and the threat of being ritualistically purged or enslaved by the Urim were constant.
