The Celestials was the name given to the collection of non-evil deities who shaped, guided, and protected the multiverse. The formal title "Celestials" was often replaced with simply "gods".

Classifications

There were generally four classifications of Celestial gods:

Imminent Celestials were gods that consciously influenced the world of Echelon and its denizens. After the gods used magic to protect the Material Plane, they sometimes spoke to mortals through avatars, dreams, or messengers.

Transcendent Celestials were gods that did not actively participate in the history of the world, and their influence was much less personal. These beings were usually in control of forces such as nature and time.

Creative Celestials were names given to four gods: Avandra, Bahamut, Moradin, and Pelor. In the dogma of the Church of the Tetrarchs, these beings were intimately involved in the formation of the planet and its first peoples.

Lesser celestials included angels and exarchs, and were responsible for carrying out the gods' will in the multiverse.
